BULY shootout promos

Promo shots of hockey players for match trailers — an idea that needed a camera, not just a render. I took it from a sketch on paper to a media-day shoot and ran the set.

From a sketch to a shooting plan

The idea started as a scribble on paper. A series of tests defined the look, the light and the camera before anyone stepped in front of the lens, so the shoot itself could follow a plan rather than an experiment.

Media day, no second chances

The players were only available during media day, so everything had to run fast. I supervised the shoot: adjusted the lighting, worked out the framing with the camera operator and directed the players and coaches.

Graphics that depend on live-action footage are only as good as the footage itself. Being on set means the shots arrive in post exactly the way the design needs them.
