BULY season intro
A new title sequence for BULY, ČT sport's flagship show on Czech hockey — the country's most-watched sport. The goal we set ourselves: get as close as possible to the work of large, well-funded broadcast teams like ESPN, with a team of two.

Built to survive every season
The intro is split in two. A fixed motif — the puck sequence — carries the identity of the show. A variable part carries the club logos of the current season.
Each new season only half of the sequence gets rebuilt, and the fixed part works on its own as the base for derivative idents for the programmes that follow BULY.
Made between live broadcasts
The sequence took about three months, produced alongside the daily operation of a sports channel. Almost all of it was built in Blender, with a few shots carried over from Cinema 4D.
I came up with the concept, directed the piece, cut it and wrote the music. Tadeáš Šámal built most of the 3D.
Part of a wider redesign
The intro was one piece of a full redesign of BULY, including a refreshed logo. The show gets reworked every season — the latest round brought new studio graphics and a new on-air graphics package.
